When people participate in drug crime in Kentucky, the outcome of their arrest and record may influence many aspects of their life. Getting eligibility for FAFSA
According to CNBC, in the most current version of the application for Federal Student Aid or FAFSA, there is a requirement for people to disclose their involvement in drugs in their past. If their answer is yes, their eligibility for student aid is immediately suspended until they meet one of two requirements. These requirements include the following:
- They successfully pass two drug tests given at random and without prior notification.
- They successfully complete a certified drug rehabilitation program.
Disclosure of drug involvement
Even though Federal Student Aid requires students to disclose their involvement with drugs, they also remind people that drug involvement during the course of receiving financial aid may also have consequences. If sources find that a student’s drug crimes occurred while he or she was a recipient of financial aid, a legal requirement may demand repayment of funds accumulated during that period of time. The sooner a student begins working to make amends, the sooner he or she may regain eligibility to receive federal aid.
