A man in Gibson County has been arrested following a single-vehicle accident that saw his car end up in a ditch. The 57-year-old Kentucky man is now facing a DUI charge after witnesses allegedly identified him. There is no word at this time whether he has retained criminal defense counsel.
According to the report, it appears the vehicle the man was driving was allegedly seen being part of a hit-and-run accident some 30 minutes before police arrived at the scene. The man’s vehicle had crashed into a ditch on the south side of State Road 68 not far from County Road 550 West. Witnesses say the man was seen stumbling out of the vehicle.
Officers arrived on the scene and encountered the 57-year-old man who reportedly became combative with police after being accused of drinking and driving. He was arrested and charged with DUI, disorderly conduct, leaving the scene of an accident, resisting law enforcement, and intimidating a police officer. It is unclear whether he remains in police custody at this time.
If the man is found guilty of the DUI and other charges against him, he could face not only fines and the loss of his license, but also jail time. This is why he will be represented in Kentucky court by an experienced defense attorney who will carefully review the facts of the case and the charges against him and focus on protecting his legal rights. This will help the attorney to build a compelling case in his defense against these myriad charges.
